Today the 8th of March, is International Women’s Day. Much of Jaya Mental Health’s work focuses on improving access to quality mental health care for women and girls living in South Asia. Most of this work is done through the training and empowerment of female nurses. This year, our thoughts are with the mothers, the daughters, the female leaders and all other unbeatable and extraordinary women of Syria, Yemen, the Ukraine, Afghanistan and other countries where war and conflict is taking place. They deserve our respect and all the support we can give them. Would the World be in this current state if we had more women in politics and positions of leadership? Probably not. Challenge discrimination. End inequality. Celebrate women and their achievements. Let’s make our global society an equitable network we are truly proud to be part of, once and for all.
